Mighty Mississippi River

2005_0507_174544AA.JPG (631282 bytes)US Hwy 65 runs along the western banks of the Mississippi River, often crossing bayous and oxbow lakes left in the natural course of the River and as a result of the work of the Corps of Engineers as it "straightened out" the River.

Beautiful vistas will surprise and delight travelers along US Hwy 65, as the River meanders into and around the cities and towns of this stretch of the highway.

The bridges across the Mississippi River at Mound/Vicksburg and at Vidalia/Natchez are destinations unto themselves!  Awe-inspiring are the power of the current, the changes it has made in the earth, and the distance from one side of the river to the other.

Stop and take some photos as you visit, and send us a few!  We'd love to see the River through YOUR eyes.
